UEPA hosted a roundtable with representatives of light industry, vocational and professional higher education in Kharkiv region within the Ukrainian-Swedish project TEX4YUA

On June 26, the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy hosted a roundtable discussion on “Sustainable Excellence for Ukrainian Youth in the Textile and Apparel Industry” as part of the Ukrainian-Swedish TEX4YUA project.

The event was attended by representatives of professional higher education (Kharkiv Professional College of Technology and Design) and vocational education in Kharkiv (Kharkiv Higher Vocational School of Services, State educational establishment “Regional center of professional education of sewing technologies and services of Kharkiv region”, Kharkiv Higher Vocational School of Garment Production and Household), as well as entrepreneurs in the sewing and textile industries and activists of the Innovation Generation NGO. UEPA was represented at the event by project team members from the Department of Food Technologies, Light Industry and Design and the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, International Relations and Academic Mobility.

During the meeting, topics related to providing Ukrainian students, pupils, professionals and young workers of the textile and clothing industry, as well as teachers of higher, vocational and professional (vocational) education institutions, with knowledge, skills and innovative thinking in the field of textiles in order to become competitive in the international market, to increase the interest of young people in programs aimed at the industry in Ukraine through the activities planned within TEX4YUA were discussed:

– empowering young people involved in the textile industry in Ukraine;

– creating an online platform for sharing resources and comprehensive training materials;

– strengthening cooperation between partners;

– preparation of new applications for EU funding to ensure future support for the development of young textile professionals in Ukraine.
